Fountain Blue Press Release: POLO AND BALLOON FESTIVAL COMES TO WELLINGTON

An event for the entire family is coming to Polo West in Wellington on May 11-13, 2012.    The Ford Trucks Polo and Balloon Festival has something for everyone.    This will be a weekend of hot air balloons (both regular and special shapes), polo, music, food, vendors and much more.  

Festivities on Friday night include Hot Air Balloon flights/rides (5:30 PM), Polo West Polo Cup (6:00 PM) featuring the Ford Trucks Polo Team vs. Palm Beach Polo & Hunt Club team and Tether Balloon Rides (7:30 PM).     After the polo game seven hot air balloons will inflate on the field and offer tether rides.   The tether rides go on sale at 5:30 PM.    Only 350 tether rides are available.   Be sure to arrive early to purchase your tickets.   Tether rides are $5 per person with the funds going to the Wounded Warrior Project and Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.

Each morning twenty hot air balloons will take off from the polo field in a mass ascension (7:00 AM).    Attendees are invited to walk among the six and seven story balloons as they inflate and lift off.    To honor our Service Men and Women we will take twenty wounded Soldiers and Marines for a balloon ride on Saturday Morning of wounded warriors will take balloon rides throughout the weekend.   Be sure to come out and thank them for their service.   On Saturday night the festivities begin with the Lamborghini Palm Beach Polo Classic (6:00 PM)   International Opera Singer Lou Galterio will sing the National Anthem as the Marine Corp. Color Guard meet the polo teams and parade of Lamborghini’s at center field.   After the game the balloons will return to the field for the Floridian Community Bank Balloon Glow.  All of the balloons will be tethered as they light their burners to create an awe-inspiring light show.   

Admission to all events at Polo West is a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project and Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund.
